Developed for the iHome brand (iHL31) through Checkolite International
A desk lamp with integrated iPod dock, four-speaker 360-degree audio, and adjustable telescopic poles, designed for Checkolite's iHome licensed product line and released in 2007 as the premium tier of the first iHome lamp series I led for Checkolite.
The design took its cue from Apple's earphones — the white earbuds that defined the iPod accessory vocabulary at the time — and from the broader Apple design language of that era: glossy polished plastics, brushed metallic trim, restrained surface treatment. Two colorways matched the iPod options available at the time: glossy white with silver trim and glossy black with gunmetal trim. A four-speaker array around the housing produced ambient 360-degree audio, telescopic poles allowed for light adjustment, and an iPod dock with remote control sat at the base for charging and playback.
Released through Lowe's, Target, Bed Bath & Beyond, and other retailers, and still available across resale marketplaces today.
