Developed for hospitality environments
A bedside desk lamp designed in 2013 for hotels and hospitality interiors, integrating reading light with power and device charging in a single fixture. By the early 2010s, multi-device travel had become the norm and integrated charging was emerging as a forward-looking hotel amenity — recognized by chains differentiating on guest experience, though not yet a standard fixture in rooms. The design responded to that emerging demand: resolving light, power, and charging into a single object that earned its place on a bedside surface without adding clutter.
The form pairs a thin, elongated rectangular shade with a thin, weighted rectangular base — restrained geometry chosen so the lamp could coordinate across a wide range of hotel interior styles rather than work only within a specific aesthetic. Two USB ports and two power outlets integrate along the base, positioned for guest reach without making the lamp read as a charging station first. The proportions hold the lamp visually quiet on the nightstand, prioritizing the unobtrusive presence hospitality interiors expect from in-room furniture.
The Tourin Hotel Desk Lamp resolves light, power, and charging into one quietly composed bedside object — utility and restraint held in balance.
