A sculptural pendant inspired by sunlight filtering through palm leaves. The design translates that moment into a layered lighting object, pairing a softly illuminated frosted acrylic globe with an outer frame wrapped in natural rattan to create a pattern of light and shadow around the fixture.
The outer form is built around a faceted metal framework hand-wrapped in rattan, with repeated ribs tapering outward from the top and bottom toward a wider center. The spacing between each rib allows light from the inner globe to break through in narrow bands, recalling the way sunlight appears between overlapping palm fronds. The frosted globe softens the source at the center, while the rattan adds warmth, texture, and a natural material character.
Rather than reproducing a botanical motif directly, the design abstracts the reference through silhouette, material, and filtered light. The result combines tropical inspiration with a more architectural geometry, creating a pendant that shifts from a textured sculptural object when unlit to a patterned source of ambient light when illuminated.
