Developed for Agio Specialty, introduced at Casual Market
An outdoor furniture collection introduced at the International Casual Furniture & Accessories Market in Chicago in 2015, designed for Agio Specialty as part of Agio's premium outdoor lineup. The brief was to extend Agio's signature design language — cast aluminum construction with traditional ornamental detailing — into a collection that read more refined and contemporary than the heritage pieces Agio was known for, while staying clearly within the brand's established craftsmanship vocabulary.
The collection spans three product categories — an Alumicast® dining set, a cast-header sling set, and Alumicast® spring deep seating — unified by a consistent design language across categories. Casting work draws on the intricate scrollwork and ornamental detail at the core of Agio's identity, but treated with restraint and cleaner proportions: the scrollwork sized and spaced to register as composed pattern rather than dense decoration, and the structural elements held to thinner, more architectural profiles than the heavier traditional cast aluminum in the segment. The cast-header sling chairs preserve the comfort and weather performance Agio's sling seating is known for while introducing a more contemporary header silhouette, and the spring deep seating extends the same design language into the lounge category. Each product was designed to read as a cohesive family across the dining, accent, and lounge typologies that define a complete outdoor program.
The Pembroke Collection brings Agio's heritage casting language into a more contemporary register — traditional ornament and modern proportion held in deliberate balance.
