Developed for specialty through Activa Leisure, 2018.
An outdoor furniture collection centered on a modular fire feature and coordinating tables, developed to bring architectural presence to the specialty outdoor category. The design explored how changes in height, proportion, and repetition could turn functional outdoor pieces into a composed landscape around the seating.
The tables and fire feature are built from simple rectilinear volumes, with varying heights creating a tiered composition inspired by the massing and rhythm of the Manhattan skyline. Woven bodies give the forms visual weight while stone-look tops provide a clean horizontal counterpoint. The fire element rises as the focal point of the arrangement, while lower tables step down around it to create a flexible grouping that can be configured across different seating layouts.
The Mandalay Collection translates architectural massing into outdoor living, using proportion, repetition, and varied elevation to create a structured composition around fire and seating.
