Developed for indoor spaces through Activa Leisure
An accent chair developed in 2020 within the category-development program that brought an outdoor furniture business into indoor furniture for a national warehouse-club retailer. Rather than draw a new piece, Lexington started from an outdoor lounge chair already engineered for the retailer's patio program and re-skinned it for indoor use — the aluminum frame and all-weather wicker reworked into solid wood, the performance-fabric cushions into leather. It was the program's thesis in miniature: an outdoor company's existing design redeployed indoors with minimal new development, against the retailer's upholstered accent-chair assortment.
The solid wood frame keeps the clean, architectural lines of the outdoor original, softened by subtle tapering at each joint. Black leather cushions replace the outdoor fabric, introducing depth and a more tailored, interior read while holding the silhouette the patio version had already proven. The result trades weather-built materials for warmth and material integrity — craftsmanship distilled into contemporary form.
The Lexington Accent Chair carries an outdoor frame indoors — proportion and restraint reworked in wood and leather.
