A three-light vanity fixture developed for Lowe’s Portfolio collection, combining traditional turned-metal detailing with a more architectural horizontal composition. The design moves the light sources away from the wall on a projected rail, creating a fixture with greater depth and presence while also accommodating vanity mirrors and cabinets that extend beyond the wall surface.
The fixture is organized around a long horizontal bar supported from a central circular backplate. Three suspended light assemblies are spaced across the rail, with turned collars and stepped transitions giving each connection the character of traditional furniture hardware. The repeated detailing creates rhythm across the length of the fixture without relying on a heavy decorative frame. Softly tapered frosted glass shades hang below the structure, balancing the more articulated metalwork with a simple, diffused form.
Finished in brushed nickel, the design sits between traditional and contemporary styling. The familiar turned details give it warmth and residential character, while the exposed rail, extended wall projection, and evenly spaced composition make the fixture feel lighter and more architectural than a conventional vanity bar.
Released through Lowe’s Portfolio brand in 2012, the fixture used both styling and projection to rethink the typical wall-mounted vanity light, creating a distinctive three-dimensional presence in front of the mirror plane.
