Developed for indoor spaces through Activa Leisure
A two-pack dining chair developed as part of a category-development program built to carry an outdoor furniture business through its off-season. Indoor furniture offered a counter-seasonal line to offset the patio season's revenue swing, and a national warehouse-club retailer — where the company already held an outdoor relationship — was the channel of entry. The brief was to analyze the retailer's dining assortment and find a direction it didn't carry. That assortment ran heavily all-wood and padded-seat; the opening was a woven direction, drawing on the leather-strap dining chair that specialty retailers like Restoration Hardware and Crate & Barrel had brought to prominence through the late 2010s.
The collection works from a single composed gesture: a curved backrest that anchors each chair and sets the rhythm for the set. A solid acacia frame follows the sweep of the back, with transitions softened through a waterfall seat front and subtly curved legs. Handwoven leather straps cross the seat and back in a measured weave, carrying texture and warmth and standing in for the upholstered seating typical of the segment — a substitution that delivers a more crafted read while holding to the channel's price and dimensional targets.
The Cava Dining Set brings a specialty-retail language into a value format — familiarity elevated through craft, shaped by one continuous line.
