Developed for commercial outdoor spaces through Activa Leisure
A commercial outdoor furniture collection designed in 2019 following a visit to NeoCon — the contract furniture industry's annual trade event in Chicago — where bold color, flowing furniture forms, and the blurring of residential and commercial aesthetics had emerged as the year's dominant directions. The Batan Collection translates that contract design language into outdoor commercial seating, carrying the vibrancy and form vocabulary of NeoCon's indoor work into a weather-resistant program for restaurant patios, hospitality terraces, and other commercial outdoor settings.
The frames are built from flowing anodized aluminum profiles, kept thin and continuous so the silhouette reads as fluid rather than rigid — picking up the curved and amorphic furniture shapes that defined NeoCon 2019 and translating them into an outdoor structural format. Each curve was shaped to balance comfort with visual continuity, letting the chair read as a single composed gesture rather than a sum of joined parts. The aluminum is paired with Sunbrella® Basis Melon sling fabric — a vivid melon-toned commercial performance textile — creating the kind of bold tonal contrast between frame and fabric that NeoCon's contract showrooms had foregrounded that year. The color palette draws from yellow's emergence as the dominant 2019 contract color direction, applied to outdoor furniture where mass-market color choices typically remained conservative.
The Batan Collection brings contract design vocabulary outdoors — flowing aluminum and vivid performance fabric carrying NeoCon 2019's confident color language into commercial outdoor seating.
