Developed through Checkolite International for Lowe’s Portfolio, released 2012.
A transitional flushmount developed for Lowe’s Portfolio collection around a single continuous glass form. The design moves away from the heavier frames and decorative metalwork common to traditional ceiling fixtures, using the shape and texture of the glass itself to create the fixture’s visual identity.
The diffuser opens outward from a narrow center into a broad flared profile, creating a softer, more sculptural presence at the ceiling. Fine vertical ribs molded into the frosted glass follow the curvature of the form, adding texture and catching the illumination across the surface without introducing additional ornament. A restrained brushed-nickel canopy and center finial frame the glass at either end, allowing the diffuser to remain the dominant element while giving the fixture a clean transitional character.
Released through Lowe’s Portfolio brand in 2012, Atlantis used proportion, curvature, and molded-glass detail to give a familiar flushmount format a more fluid and contemporary expression.
